Abstract
High-voltage transmission line safety is increasingly important, leading to the use of online monitoring equipment in various applications. Embedding domino-coils in high-voltage insulators for wireless power transmission can effectively ensure a continuous power supply for online monitoring equipment. However, the influence of the external environment on the performance of the integrated insulator during work cannot be ignored. This study employs COMSOL Multiphysics® to investigate the interaction between raindrops and the electromagnetic field, with an emphasis on the impact of raindrops on the electric field of an integrated insulator embedded with domino-coils across different stages of rainfall. The results show that the electromagnetic field introduced by domino-coils does not change the motion trajectory of raindrops, while domino-coils and equipotential treatment significantly distort the electric field around the integrated insulator during rainfall. The paper designs a corona ring for the integrated insulator configuration, which effectively mitigates the electric field distortion caused by the coil.
